Kate's Shoes

LK Bennett is re-issuing the black patent Greta wedge - made famous by Kate when she stepped out onto the lawn in them the day after her wedding. The shoes will be available early June for about £150. Oh, and they are now called the Kate wedge. Yup. Kate has her own wedge.

Do we even like these? I really hope she makes some more interesting shoe choices in the future.

Despite repeated requests, the jeweler Robinson Pelham will not be replicating the earrings Kate wore on her wedding day to be made available to the general public.

You can, however, buy a replica pair from Kenneth Jay Lane's QVC shop for $39.

This is the fragrance Kate wore on her wedding day. It has been in such demand that there is now a waiting list for the next batch, due to be available this summer. It's called White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum. The fragrance was created by Michael Boadi and is available exclusively at Roullier White for £70 (with an additional £35 delivery fee to the US). The artisan perfumery describes the scent as "fragrant as a bouquet of white flowers, quivering in the gentle April breeze, this is a delicate and nuanced scent. The top notes of gardenia and wisps of lily dance around the heart notes of ylang ylang, muguet and jasmine, which bring a further trio of white flowers into play". Ok, then.

Just a normal housewife . . .

Seven days ago, the Duchess of Cambridge was walking down the aisle of Westminster Abbey in a bespoke Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding gown.
Two days ago, she was weilding a Waitrose shopping trolley as she went into the Anglesey branch of the supermarket.
You can take the girl out of the King’s Road, but not, seemingly, vice versa. Kate looks every inch the Sloane ranger, dressed in a pair of French Sole brown mock-croc ballet pumps (£92), a pair of faded black Hudson skinny jeans (costing a whopping £195,  the brand is her favourite), a long-line  white cashmere v-neck jumper and green frilled shrug.
She’s also wearing the same pair of Hope Egg earrings (by Links of London £275) that appeared in the couple’s official engagement photo taken by Mario Testino.

Honeymoon News

The latest from Clarence House is that Will & Kate are to honeymoon later this month at a private island in the Indian Ocean. I'm guessing close to the Seychelles or the Maldives. Based on how exclusive and private this place is, it doesn't look like we will be seeing any pictures of Kate in her honeymoon trousseau. Just as well, to leave them in peace. Here are some of the things she purchased on King's Road the week before the wedding at Warehouse. The poppy-print strapless dress is £60. The feather-print one shoulder dress is £45. The tropical bird print dress is sold out (it was £65.). These are all from Warehouse, but can also be found at House of Fraser. The blue Zara dress she was spotted in the day after the wedding is sold out. You have to wonder how these retailers are reacting the the Kate-craze. Everything she wears is going to be in hyper-demand. But, it also remains to be seen whether she will continue to don High Street frocks once she is in full Duchess mode.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, stepped out on her first day as a royal in a £49.99 dress. This is why we love this woman! The cornflower blue dress is from Zara. Her black wedges (the same pair she wore shopping in Kings Road last week) are from L.K. Bennett. I don't know if the ribbon belt she is wearing came with the dress, but, paired with the tailored jacket, it gives the outfit a preppy twist. They are headed to the helicopter and a quiet weekend at an undisclosed location. They have postponed a proper honeymoon. The Duke will head back to work next week as a search and rescue pilot while Kate presumably settles into their new home - another undisclosed location. It will obviously be in Wales, close to Will's base. Now, I am totally curious about what their home life will be like. Will they live in a royal residence? Will they buy their own house? If so, who will decorate it? So many questions!! Well, I do hope they are having a lovely and quiet weekend.
