Kate in Coral Satin Silk Dress

The royal grandchildren treated Prince Philip to dinner for his 90th birthday last evening. The group, which included Will and Kate, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, Peter Phillips and his wife, Autumn, and Peter's sister Zara, dined at The Waterside Inn.  Kate wore a coral coloured satin silk Stella McCartney dress.

The dress certainly photographs better in the daytime. I really like the dress and coral could not be more hot right now. But every time I see a celebrity photographed in a satin silk dress I think the same thing - that looks awful. I'm sure it is beautiful in person, it just does not photograph well. Anyway, I love seeing Kate wearing McCartney. So much better than that mother-of-the-bride business she was wearing earlier in the day. Stay tuned, Royal Ascot begins this week!

The latest from Clarence House is that Will & Kate are to honeymoon later this month at a private island in the Indian Ocean. I'm guessing close to the Seychelles or the Maldives. Based on how exclusive and private this place is, it doesn't look like we will be seeing any pictures of Kate in her honeymoon trousseau. Just as well, to leave them in peace. Here are some of the things she purchased on King's Road the week before the wedding at Warehouse. The poppy-print strapless dress is £60. The feather-print one shoulder dress is £45. The tropical bird print dress is sold out (it was £65.). These are all from Warehouse, but can also be found at House of Fraser. The blue Zara dress she was spotted in the day after the wedding is sold out. You have to wonder how these retailers are reacting the the Kate-craze. Everything she wears is going to be in hyper-demand. But, it also remains to be seen whether she will continue to don High Street frocks once she is in full Duchess mode.
